The Government launched the eKL initiative in March 2007 to strengthen and enhance the Government Service Delivery System within Klang Valley, through the use of ICT. Its mission is to ensure “Delivering services through an integrated and connected Klang Valley” via a reliable, efficient and sophisticated ICT system.
The SMS initiative is part of the Government efforts to enhance its communication channels through the use of current technologies. The SMS Gateway is aimed to encompass all Government agencies in the coming future besides enabling easy, concise and instantaneous interaction with the various Government agencies via an easy, top-of-mind recall shortcode 15888.

MySMS members enjoy the latest Government updates via SMS at no charge.

You can register via your mobile phone. Type:

2 types of information are available:    

a) General information pertaining to the Government agencies such as office address & contact numbers nationwide, form downloads and other services as established by the respective agencies.

b) Individual personal information maintained at respective agencies, eg examination results, application status, account details & personal profiles.

To obtain personal information, you have to register as a ‘virtual member’ of the respective agency. Thereafter, simply follow the SMS instruction as required such as typing in your IC no.

No. The Government SMS Gateway 15888 is merely an ICT platform for the convenience of the public. Users of this service have to pay a minimum cost each time it is utilized.


Each SMS send is charged RM0.15.
Each SMS received is charged RM0.20.
Each SMS broadcast received is free.

Forms available at Government agencies' websites are available for downloads to your email via SMS.

Type:

[Agency's Keyword] [subcode] [email] & SMS to 15888.

Requested forms will be automatically pushed to the email address provided in your SMS.

Note: Subcodes differ according to the different types of forms and agencies available. To get the correct SMS instructions according to agency, type:

Your standard Telco charge of RM0.15 will apply for each SMS sent. However, you will NOT be charged for SMS responses / replies NOT received.


In normal circumstances, the SMS cycle (upon system receipt of your SMS request) is in real-time. During peak periods however, each SMS response may take a longer time to reach your mobile unit. 


The mySMS 15888 service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.


This service is currently available to all Telco operators in Malaysia ​ - Celcom, Maxis, DiGi, TuneTalk, UMobile and XOX.


Yes, this service is available to both the public & Government sectors.


If you are a prepaid user, reasons may include:

1. Your network operator may be experiencing congestion.
2. Your phone credits are at a minimum and not adequate to receive SMS.
3. You may have made a typing error whilst initiating your SMS request.
If you are a postpaid user, reasons may include:

1. Your network operator may be experiencing congestion.
2. You may have made a typing error whilst initiating your SMS request.


No. SMS sent is based on your request. Each SMS you send is charged RM0.15 and each successful SMS response is charged RM0.20.
Broadcasts are free and is only sent to your mobile unit upon your registration as a member of mySMS or respective Government agency.


Should you choose not to receive broadcasts / notifications, you can initiate a STOP request via SMS. To do this, type:
STOP ALL, send to 15888
